Jonathan Kalman is the Founder, Chairman and CEO of Katalyst, a private investment and advisory firm serving public and private technology and life science companies in the US, Europe, Asia and Israel.
Under Mr. Kalman’s leadership, Katalyst has become a leader in providing private placement, mergers and acquisition services and corporate finance advice to small and medium-sized public and private companies and has completed over $500M in transactions, in a wide range of industries, including Technology, Life Sciences, Broadband, Media, Enterprise Software, Infrastructure Technology and Electronic Payment Solutions. Katalyst Securities LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary, is an NASD/SIPC registered broker/dealer.
In addition, Mr. Kalman is the founder of Internet Katalyst Investment Partners I, and the co-founder of Katalyst Venture Partners I (KVP I).
Prior to forming Katalyst, Mr. Kalman was Chairman and CEO of iVenture Capital Group, an investment firm providing business strategy, capital raising and M&A services to emerging growth companies and to nationally recognized venture capital firms. Earlier, he was Managing Director of Naviant Technology Solutions.
Mr. Kalman began his career at IBM, where he led an advanced semiconductor diagnostics team. Subsequently, he played a strategic role in the successful launch of IBM's management consulting and systems integration capabilities, where he focused on the worldwide Electronic Payments industry.
A frequent speaker, Mr. Kalman is a member of the National Venture Capital Association (NVCA), an officer of the Philadelphia Chapter of the Young President's Organization (YPO), an officer of the IT and Software Network (ITSN) of YPO, and has been an advisor to public and private companies, as well as family offices, on the issues of growth, technology, divestiture and investments, including VISA, Sears Credit, Discover Card, Royal Bank of Canada, BellSouth, Customer Analytics, ERisk, InvestorForce, Netuitive, Breakaway Solutions, Internet Capital Group, Rothschild Venture Capital Management (RVCM), Hunt Ventures, and The Pritzker Group. Mr. Kalman holds an MBA from Northwestern University's J.L. Kellogg School of Management and a BS in Applied Physics from Cornell University.
